We join all Americans in heartfelt sorrow for the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks and we salute the heroes who have come to the aid of their fellow Americans.

We humbly dedicate this page to those men and women of the United States Secret Service who paid the supreme sacrifice in duty to their country. Many of us fondly remember the assignments we shared. May they rest in peace.

ATSAIC Christopher Joseph Smith - December 27, 2007: Died as a result of a heart attack while on duty in Atlanta, Georgia.

Agent Phillip Lebid- November 22, 2004: Killed in an automobile accident while returning to the Tampa Field Office.

Master Special Officer Craig J. Miller - September 11, 2001: Killed in the attack on the World Trade Center towers.

Agent Scott E. Deaton - June 11, 1999: Killed in an automobile accident while en route to a protective assignment.

Agent Hector L. Diaz - December 26, 1997: Died as of a result of contracting Hepatitis C while performing his investigative duties.

Agent Daniel M. Connolly - October 24, 1996: Died of a heart attack while on duty.

Physical Security Specialist Aldo E. Frascoia - August 17, 1996: Died when a Presidential cargo plane crashed near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Agent Alan G. Whicher - April 19, 1995: Died as a result of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Budding in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Investigative Assistant Kathy L. Seidl - April 19, 1995: Died as a result of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Office Manager Linda G. McKinney - April 19, 1995: Died as a result of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Agent Cynthia L. Brown - April 19, 1995: Died as a result of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Agent Donald R. Leonard - April 19, 1995: Died as a result of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

- April 19, 1995: Died as a result of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Agent James Steven Collins - October 20, 1992: Died of a heart attack while protecting a Vice-Presidential candidate in Los Angeles, California.

Special Officer Marvin E. Gilpin - August 15, 1989:  Died of a heart attack while on duty in Washington, D.C.

Agent Richard T. Cleary - June 11, 1986: Died of a heart attack while on duty.

Agent Manuel de I Marrero-Otero - December 31, 1986: Died as a result of a fire at the Dupont Plaza Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was in the hotel manager's office investigating a counterfeit case when the fire occurred.

Agent George P. LaBarge - March 5, 1983: Killed in an automobile collision which occurred en route to Yosemite National Park, California, to provide protection for Queen Elizabeth II.

Agent Donald A. Bejcek - March 5, 1983: Killed in an automobile collision which occurred en route to Yosemite National Park, California, to provide protection for Queen Elizabeth II.

Agent Donald W. Robinson - March 5, 1983: Killed in an automobile collision which occurred en route to Yosemite National Park, California, to provide protection for Queen Elizabeth II.

Agent Julie Y. Cross - June 4, 1980: Killed by two assailants while investigating a counterfeit case in Los Angeles, California.

Agent Perry S. Watkins - January 14, 1980: Died as a result of bullet wounds he sustained while on duty at the Denver Field Office. The assailant had a history of harassing federal representatives, and had been confined to mental hospitals on several occasions. He was killed during the incident.

Agent James M. Ryan - February 9, 1977: Killed in an automobile accident while on official business in New York City.

Agent J. Clifford Dietrich - May 26, 1973: Killed in a helicopter crash near Grand Cay Island in the Bahamas while on assignment with the Presidential Protective Division.

Agent Thomas K. Wooge - October 17, 1968: Died of a heart attack while protecting a Presidential candidate in Rochester, New York.

Agent Thomas B. Shipman - October 14, 1963: Died of a heart attack while on a presidential protective assignment at Camp David, Maryland.

Officer Leslie I. Coffelt - November 1, 1950: Killed in an exchange of gunfire with Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola in front of the Blair House, Washington, D.C., when the two Puerto Rican Nationalists attempted to assassinate President Truman.

Agent Thomas E. Vaughan - November 8, 1940: Killed in an automobile accident while on official business en route to Nashville, Tennessee.


Agent August A. Gennerich - December 1, 1936: Died of a heart attack while in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while engaged in presidential protection.

Agent Henry E. Thomas - August 17, 1936: Died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on official business.

Agent James A. Hollinger - July 26, 1936: Died of a heart attack while on a Coast Guard cutter en route from Bar Harbor to Eastport, Maine, in connection with presidential protection.

Operative Robert L. Godby - May 24, 1935: Involved in an automobile accident while on official business on May 19, 1935, in Buffalo, New York.


Operative James W. Hair - July 12, 1928: Shot and killed during a dispute at a firing range.

Operative Robert K. Webster - August 7, 1927: Shot and killed by a liquor runner while on a Coast Guard boat en route to Bimini Island to conduct a counterfeit investigation.


Operative Joseph A. Walker - November 3, 1907: Murdered while conducting a land fraud investigation in Durango, Colorado.

Operative William Craig - September 3, 1902: Killed at Lenox, Massachusetts, in a collision between a streetcar and the President's carriage.
